Pianist Peep Lassmann will perform in Prague

On April 26 at 7 pm, cellist Yosif Feigelson from US and Estonian pianist Peep Lassmann will perform at the Spanish synagogue in Prague. The concert is dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the birth of composer Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy. Duo Feigelson-Lassmann will perform Mendelssohn’s complete works for cello and piano.


Peep Lassmann

Yosif Feigelson is recognized as one of the foremost cellists of his time. He studied at the Moscow Conservatoire with Mstislav Rostropovich and Natalia Gutman. Feigelson has performed in all major concert halls in the United States and Europe. As chamber music player, he has collaborated with some of the world’s best known musicians. In addition, he has given master classes to string players at many venues across the United States and Europe.

Peep Lassmann is a highly valued concert pianist and a chamber musician. He has performed piano music by approximately 30 Estonian composers, as well as been distinguished as a superb Messiaen interpreter. Lassmann is a long-time piano lecturer in Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, since 1992 also professor and rector. He is a socially active leader figure in Estonian music life.
