World Premiere of Symphony No. 7 „Pietas“ by Erkki-Sven Tüür

On June 18 and 19, Erkki-Sven Tüür’s Symphony No. 7 will be premiered in Frankfurt Alte Opera Hall. The Symphony is co-commissioned by hr-Sinfonieorchester (the radio orchestra of Hessischer Rundfunk, the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra until 2005) and Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. The Symphony No. 7 is dedicated to Tenzin Gyatso. New piece is performed by hr-Sinfonieorchester and NDR Chor (North German Radio Choir), conductor Paavo Järvi.

In the same concert evenigs Paavo Järvi is conducting Cantata Calm Sea and Prosperous Voyage by Ludwig van Beethoven and The Rite of Spring by Igor Stravinsky.
