Sten Lassmann and Estonian National Symphony Orchestra

 


 

One of the most outstanding pianists of younger generation in Estonia Sten Lassmann will give three concerts entitled Beethoven’s Portrait with the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Toomas Vavilov. The program consists of music by Ludwig van Beethoven – Overture Coriolan, Piano Concerto No. 5 in E flat major and Symphony No. 5 in C minor. Concerts will be hosted by Raivo Järvi.

Concerts, starting at 7 pm, will take place on January 14 at Pärnu Concert Hall, January 15 at Estonia Concert Hall and January 16 at Vanemuine Concert Hall.

Sten Lassmann has achieved recognition in Estonia and abroad. He has given recitals, performed as a chamber musician and appeared as a soloist with several orchestras. Lassmann has gained recognition at many piano competitions, both national and international, the most notable is the first prize at the VI National Piano competition in Tallinn (2002).
At the present time, Lassmann continues his PhD studies at the Royal Academy of Music in London with Ian Fountain.
