Vocalissimo: Annaliisa Pillak

Estonian mezzo-soprano Annaliisa Pillak will be performing in Estonian singers introducing concert series Vocalissimo. The concert will take place on January 16 at 6 pm in Tallinn Town Hall. The program consists of vocal music by Gustav Mahler, Johannes Brahms, Hector Berlioz and Georges Bizet, piano accompaniment by Ralf Taal.

Annaliisa Pillak has studied singing with Ludmilla Dombrovska-Keis at the Georg Ots Music School in Tallinn and under the guidance of Annika Ollinkari at the Sibelius Academy. In addition, she has studied at the Milan Conservatory and participated in master classes of Taru Valjakka, Larissa Gergijeva, Tom Krause, Monica Groop, Anna Bergamo, Gustav Kuhn, Alessandro Amoretti and others. In 2006 she made her opera debute as Sesto in Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s opera La clemenza di Tito concert performance in Estonian National Opera. Her repertoire consists of opera roles like Cenerentola (Gioachino Rossini La Cenerentola), Second Diplomat (Erkki-Sven Tüür Wallenberg), Maddalena (Giuseppe Verdi Rigoletto), Niclausse and La Muse (Jacques Offenbach Les Contes d´Hoffmann), Dorabella (Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Così fan tutte), Cherubino (Mozart Le nozze di Figaro), Olga (Pjotr Tchaikovsky Eugene Onegin) and others. As a concert soloist, she has given solo programs with pianists Jaanika Rand-Sirp, Naily Saripova, Kadri-Ann Sumera, Maarja Plink and Ralf Taal. She has also performed large scale vocal works with Estonian National Symphony Orchestra, Estonian National Opera Symphony Orchestra, The 21st Century Orchestra, Orchestra of Estonian Defence Forces and Finnish orchestra Kaartin Soittokunta. She has given concerts in Estonia, Finland, Sweden, Italy and Germany and participated in festivals Kuressaare Opera Days and Türi Springfestival.
