Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir in Austria and Croatia

On January 22 and 26, Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir (EPCC) will again participate in Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s opera production Idomeneo. This time the opera performances will take place at Mozart’s House in Salzburg within the framework of Mozartwoche 2010. The opera, directed by Olivier Py (France) was last performed in August 2009 at the Theatre Bremen.

EPCC, baroque orchestra Les Musiciens du Louvre-Grenoble (France) and soloists Richard Croft (Idomeneo), Yann Beuron (Idamante), Sophie Karthäuser (Ilia), Mireille Delunsch (Elettra), Julien Behr (Arbace), Colin Balzer (Gran sacerdote), Luca Tittotto (La voce di Nettuno) will be conducted by Marc Minkowski.

EPCC was invited to participate in Idomeneo by conductor Marc Minkowski with whom EPCC collaborated in August 2008 at Salzburg Festival. The choir has also participated in Giacomo Puccini’s opera production La Boheme at Luxembourg Grand Theatre in December 2004.

Between two opera performances, EPCC will give under the guidance of its chief conductor Daniel Reuss one concert at Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall in Zagreb (Croatia) on January 24. The program consists of Three Psalms, Op. 78 by Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, two parts of Nature Morte by Galina Grigorjeva, Seven Moss-Grown Beds and Young Brethren, Sing by Mart Saar, Psalms of David and Estonian religious folk songs by Cyrillus Kreek and Da pacem by Arvo Pärt.
