Estonian premiere of Symphony No. 4 by Arvo Pärt in Tallinn

On February 20, Arvo Pärt’s Symphony No. 4 Los Angeles will receive its Estonian premiere performance at St. Nicholas’s Church in Tallinn at 7 pm. Work will be performed by Nargen Festival Orchestra under the guidance of Tõnu Kaljuste. The concert is dedicated to the oeuvre of Arvo Pärt and the program also includes Veni creator (2006), Most Holy Mother of God (2003) and Da pacem Domine (2004) performed both Nargen Festival Orchestra and vocal ensemble Vox Clamantis (artistic director Jaan-Eik Tulve).

Symphony No. 4 is composed in 2008 (commissioned by Los Angeles Philharmonic Association) and dedicated to Mikhail Khodorkovsky. It premiered in Los Angeles in 2009 by Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra under its chief conductor Esa-Pekka Salonen.
