Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir will give Estonian premiere of John Tavener’s choral piece

On January 21 and 22, Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir under the guidance of British conductor Nicholas Jenkins will give two concerts in Tartu and Tallinn. The program consists of Arvo Pärt’s 7 Magnificat-Antiphonen and Estonian premiere of John Tavener’s Ikon of Light for mixed choir and string trio.

The concert will also feature the string trio Prezioso: Hanna-Liis Nahkur (violin), Helena Altmanis (viola) and Andreas Lend (cello).

Concerts will be held on January 21 at 6 pm at Tartu University Assembly Hall and January 22 at 7 pm at Tallinn St. Nicholas’s Church.

Tavener’s Ikon of Light will be performed by Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir and Nicholas Jenkins also on February 12 at Glasgow Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum in Scotland.
