Concert series „Violino bis“ will feature violinst Andrus Haav

The next concerts in the series Violino bis! will feature violinist Andrus Haav and pianist Ralf Taal. Duo who have played together for many years will perform on March 1 at 7 pm at Estonia Concert Hall in Tallinn and March 2 at 7 pm at Assembly Hall of Tartu University. The program consists of music by Johannes Brahms, Robert Schumann, Maurice Ravel and Pyotr Tchaikovsky.

Andrus Haav graduated in violin from Tallinn Music High School, Estonian Academy of Music and Sibelius Academy in Finland. He has won the first prize at the competition-festival Con brio for young Estonian musicians (1992) and Heino Eller International Violin Competition (1996). Andrus Haav has worked as the concertmaster of the Estonian National Opera Symphony Orchestra and taught violin at the Estonian Academy of Music. Since 1996, Haav plays in Finnish National Symphony Orchestra (since 2002 as one of the concertmasters).

He has performed both as soloist and chamber musician and has been guest-concertmaster of the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra.
