Erkki-Sven Tüür composer recital

European Capital of Culture Tallinn 2001 program presents Erkki-Sven Tüür composer recital where Sinfonietta Rīga and Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir under the baton of Daniekl Reuss will prform. The first half of the concert consists of works like Insula deserta (1989) and The Path and the Traces (2005) for string orchestra and Wanderer’s Evening Song (2001, text Ernst Enno) for mixed choir. The second part presents Tüür’s freshest piece Awakening for choir and orchestra. Piece commissioned by Capital of Culture Tallinn is dedicated to the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir and is written on texts by Estonian poets Juhan Liiv, Ernst Enno, Jaan Kaplinski and Doris Kareva as well as liturgical texts in Latin connected to Easter Day.

Erkki-Sven Tüür authorial evenings will take place on March 10 at 7 pm in Estonia Concert Hall and March 11 at 7 pm in Vanemuise Concert Hall. Awakening will be performed also in May at Berliner Philharmonie Chamber Music Hall with Deutsches Kammerorchester Berlin, Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir and conductor Daniel Reuss.

Concert in Tallinn will be live broadcast by Klassikaraadio and will be offered to EBU radios, also video broadcast can be watched.
