Tallinn Sinfonietta in Switzerland, Austria and Belgium

Chamber orchestra Tallinn Sinfonietta has a tour in Europe this week. The program in European best concert halls is following: Arvo Pärt’s Trisagion (1992/1994), Erkki-Sven Tüür’s Illusion (1993), Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Concerto for French Horn K. 495 and Concerto for Piano No. 9 in E-flat Major K. 271 and Joseph Haydn’s Symphony in C Major No. 60 „Il Distratto“. Soloists will be Radek Baborak (french horn, from Berlin Philharmonics) and Lisa Smirnova (piano), conductor is Andres Mustonen.

Concerts will take place on March 15 at 8 pm in Switzerland, Olten Konzertsaal, March 16 at 8 pm in Fribourg Aula Magna de l'Université, March 17 at 8 pm in Austria, Dornbirn Kulturhaus and March 18 at pm once again in Switzerland in Uster Stadthofsaal.

On March 31, orchestra will take part in the international new music festival Ars Nova in Brussels. Concert at Henri Le Boeuf Hall in Centre for Fine Arts BOZAR will present Charles Ives’s The Unanswered Question, Erkki-Sven Tüür’s Piano Concerto (2006, soloist Laura Mikkola), Gija Kancheli’s Silent Prayer, Kaija Saariaho’s Fourty Heartbeats and Gilles Gobert’s Answer to the Question. Conductor is Andres Mustonen.

Tallinn Sinfonietta, founded in 2008 by conductor Risto Joost consists of Estonian best young musicians. The special place in the repertoire belongs to Mozart, but works from Bach to Tüür and Corelli to Piazolla is being played as well. Their special programmes wish to show that classical music is still vivid and delightful also nowadays and gives the listener unforgettable experience. Tallinn Sinfonietta has participated at reputable Estonian festivals such as Glasperlenspiel and David Oistrakh Festival. The year 2011 brings them also to Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Emilia Romagna Festival, Festival d’Ile de France a.o.
