Concert series Vocalissimo continues

Concert series Vocalissimo which introduces Estonian singers will continue on March 24 at Pärnu Concert House with concert of soprano Aile Asszonyi and ensemble VIVACELLO. Aile Asszonyi, who works as a soloist of the Estonian National Opera, and ensemble of eight cellos (Marius Järvi, Teet Järvi, Leho Karin, Kaido Kelder, Johannes Teppo, Villu Vihermäe, Aare Tammesalu, Johannes Sarapuu) will perform Bachianas brasileiras by Heitor Villa-Lobos and L’abbé Agathon (2004) by Arvo Pärt.

Soprano Aile Asszonyi received her Master’s Degree from the Estonian Academy of Music in 2002 with Matti Pelo and Helin Kapten. She continued her studies at the Netherlands Opera Studio (2002–2004) and Carlo Bergonzi’s Academia Verdiana. She has sung different opera rolls and performed as a chamber musician. Asszonyi has also sung the soprano parts in the world premiers of pieces by Estonian composers (Timo Steiner, Ülo Krigul et al.). She was named the best Musician of the year 2007 by Estonian Music Council and received the annual Estonian Theatre Award for the best operatic performance 2009.

Aile Asszonyi and VIVACELLO will also give a concert at the newly reopened St. John’s Church in St. Petersburg on March 31.
