Concert of music by Erkki-Sven Tüür in Germany

On March 6, concert dedicated to Erkki-Sven Tüür’s works will be held in Munich in the presence of the composer. The program of the concert consists of Insula deserta (1989), Symbiosis (1996), The Path and the Traces (2005), Lighthouse (1997) and Marimba Concerto Ardor (2001). The works will be performed by Munich Chamber Orchestra and percussionist Pedro Carneiro (Portugal) under the guidance of Alexander Liebreich at the Pinakothek der Moderne Hall. Spoken introduction, given by Erkki-Sven Tüür and Alexander Liebreich, will precede the concert.

On March 3, Tüür’s viola concerto Illuminatio received its French premiere in Lille. Concerto is dedicated to the Norwegian viola player Lars Anders Tomter and was again performed by him with Lille National Orchestra, conducted by Dmitri Liss (Russia). On March 14, 15 and 16, German audience will hear Symphony No. 5 by Tüür in Bremen, performed by Bremen Philhamonic, SWR Big Band and Nguyen Le (electric guitar) under the guidance of Markus Poschner.
