Aare Tammesalu and Andres Uibo will perform in Greece

On March 17, organist Andres Uibo and cellist Aare Tammesalu will give a concert in Athens. They will perform a program consisting of pieces by Johann Sebastian Bach and Estonian authors – Prelude (1918) by Artur Kapp, Trivium (1976) by Arvo Pärt, Wanderer’s Song (2003) by Tõnu Kõrvits and Andres Uibo’s pieces And I Heared… (2003/2004) (the second movement from Apocalypsis Symphony) and Bach im Spiegel (2005). The concert will take place in the frameworks of the Athens International Organ festival at St. Paul’s Church.

On March 18, Aare Tammesalu will perform in a string quartet which also includes musicians from Greece and Cyprus. At the Cypriot House in Athens, they will perform pieces by Estonian (Rudolf Tobias, Jaan Rääts, Arvo Pärt, Heino Eller, Raimond Valgre) and Cyprian composers.

The concerts of Andres Uibo and Aare Tammesalu are supported by the Association of Estonian Professional Musicians and Estonian Embassy in Athens.
