7th Tallinn Harpsichord Festival 8–11 April 2010

This year the Tallinn Harpsichord Festival is organized for the seventh time, the roots of the festival go back to 1996 when it was organized by the State Concert Institute Eesti Kontsert in series of events dedicated to one instrument. Foreign performers of the festival are Menno van Delft (Holland, harpsichord, clavichord), Francesco Corti (Italy, harpsichord) and ensemble Novecembalo (Diadorim Saviola – harpsichord and Chiara Agosti – flute).
The concerts in Tallinn will be held at the Town Hall, Museum of Occupations, Estonian Theatre and Music Museum, Musical Salon in Toompea and Meder Hall. In addition to concerts, the festival will also feature master classes at Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, instructed by the festival’s visiting performers.
The festival program includes music by Wilhelm Friedemann Bach, Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, Johann Sebastian Bach, Jean-Philippe Rameau, Jacques Duphly, Jean-Henri d'Anglebert, François Couperin, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Goffredo Petrassi, Gianluca Podio, Jacob Ter Veldhuis, Paolo Perezzani, György Ligeti, Tõnu Kõrvits et al.
Estonian finest harpsichord players – Imbi Tarum, Ene Nael, Kristiina Are, Marju Riisikamp, Iren Lill, Ele Sonn, Reinut Tepp and Saale Fischer – will perform on April 10 at 6 pm at the Gala Concert at Musical Salon in Toompea (Hall of the Academy of Sciences).
Most important concerts of the Harpsichord Festival will be broadcasted by Estonian classical music radio Klassikaraadio.
The organizers of the Harpsichord Festival are Estonian Harpsichord Friends Society, Eesti Kontsert and music agency Corelli Music. The Artistic Director of the festival is Imbi Tarum.
