Kai Rüütel will participate in Jules Massenet’ opera Manon

On June 22, 25, 28 and July 1, 4 and 7, Kai Rüütel will participate in Jules Massenet’s opera Manon at London Royal Opera. The opera is directed by Laurent Pelly and conducted by Antonio Pappano. Other leading roles are sung by Anna Netrebko (Manon), Vittorio Grigolo (Chevalier des Grieux), Russell Braun, Christof Fischesser, Christophe Mortagne, Guy de Mey, William Shimell, Simona Mihai, Louise Innes and Lynton Black.
In July, Rüütel will also participate in Giuseppe Verdi’s opera La traviata and on July 17, she will perform at the summer concert of Jette Parker Young Artists Program.

Estonian mezzo-soprano Kai Rüütel studied singing at Tallinn Georg Ots Music School and Royal Conservatory of the Hague and received a Master’s degree from the Dutch National Opera Academy. She has also participated in master classes of Graciela Araya, Mark Tucker, Paula Chateauneuf, Ryland Davies, Muriel Corradini, Patricia MacMahon, Kenneth Montgomery, Carolyn Watkinson and Meinard Kraak. In September 2009, she joined the Jette Parker Young Artists Program and currently studies with Jon Thorsteinsson.
