Arvo Pärt Festival

 

On September 11, composer Arvo Pärt will celebrate his 75th birthday. To mark this magnificent event, Arvo Pärt Festival will take place from 17 August to 17 September in Tallinn, Paide and Rakvere within the framework of Nargen Festival. The festival offers several concerts, including the Estonian premiere of Adam’s Lament (2009), ballet evening and film festival. In addition to acknowledged Estonian performers, also guests from abroad will participate.

Arvo Pärt Festival is organised in collaboration with the Estonian Ministry of Culture, the State Concert Institute Eesti Kontsert, the City of Paide, the City of Rakvere and Estonian Public Broadcasting.

Arvo Pärt Festival will feature such Estonian performers like Estonian National Symphony Orchestra, Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir, Estonian National Male Choir, mixed choirs Noorus and Cantus, Nargen Festival Choir, Vox Clamantis, Mixed Choir Voces Musicales, Girls’ Choir Ellerhein, Estonian TV Girls’ Choir, violinist Andres Kaljuste, soloists of the Estonian National Ballet and young dancers from Paide and others. Additionally, soprano Andrea Brown and Hilliard Ensemble, Cello Octet Amsterdam, soprano Arianna Savall, pianist Sophia Rahmani, Eric Ericson Chamber Choir, Camerata Salzburg and Ensemble United Instruments of LUCILIN will perform at festival.

Film festival Music of Arvo Pärt in films will take place in Rakvere, Paide and Tallinn.
