Cyberstudio will perform music by Estonian composers in Hiiumaa

 


The Lighthouse of Tahkuna

The concert-performance Circle Wave of ensemble Cyberstudio will take place on August 24 at 7 pm at Tahkuna Lighthouse in Hiiumaa. It is organised in the series of events to mark the 135 anniversary of Tahkuna Lighthouse. The concert-performance by Monika Mattiesen will combine sound, light, movement and video, also the construction of lighthouse will be used as sound producer. 

The concert-performance Circle Wave will consist of works by Estonian composers like Jüri Reinvere, Monika Mattiesen, Mart Siimer, Erkki-Sven Tüür, Toivo Tulev, Galina Grigorjeva, Lepo Sumera and Tõnu Kõrvits. Music will be performed by Monika Mattiesen (flutes), Martti Raide (synthesizer), Aare Tammesalu (cello), Anto Õnnis (percussion), Mait Visnapuu (sound), Revo Koplus (light), Linda Vaher (movement), Vello Vaher (technical solutions).

Cyberstudio (artistic director flutist Monika Mattiesen) is multidisciplinary ensemble that is focused on perfoming music by contemporary Estonian and foreign authors. Ensemble’s main idea is synthesis of multimedia, acoustic and electro-acoustic music with other fields of arts, thus the light, video, paintings, dance, film, literature and others are roped in Cyberstudio’s projects.

From the works of foreign authors, Cyberstudio has performed music by many leading new music composers like John Cage, Pierre Jodlowski, Kaija Saariaho, Philippe Manoury, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Brian Eno and many others. Cyberstudio have given first performances of works by Estonian composers like Märt-Matis Lill, Margo Kõlar, Toivo Tulev, Timo Steiner, Helena Tulve, Mart Siimer, Jüri Reinvere, Tõnis Kaumann, Monika Mattiesen. Cyberstudio has also collaborated with composers Erkki-Sven Tüür, Tõnu Kõrvits and Mirjam Tally. Besides the intensive concert activity in Estonia, Cyberstudio has performed in Finland, Poland, France, Greece and USA.
