On August 28 at 7pm, tenor Mati Turi with pianist Martti Raide will give a concert at Tallinn Town Hall. The program consists of Estonian and German vocal music – vocal cycle The Poet’s Love, Op. 48 by Robert Schumann and solo songs and arrangements of Estonian folk songs by Mart Saar. Concert belongs to the Pärnu Townhall Music Festival and is organised by Pärnu Philharmonic Society in cooperation with Estonian State Concert Institute Eesti Kontsert.

The cooperation between Mati Turi and Martti Raide started in 2007. Since then, they have mainly performed vocal music programs by German (Gustav Mahler, Hugo Wolf, Franz Schubert, Robert Schumann, Richard Strauss, Arnold Schönebrg, Anton Webern) and Estonian composers (Mart Saar, Eduard Tubin, the Kapp family and others). |  Martti Raide |
But their repertoire also consists of the North (Jean Sibelius, Edvard Grieg) and French music (Claude Debussy). In addition to Estonia, duo Mati Turi and Martti Raide have also given concerts in USA, Canada and Germany.
