From September 21 to 25, Viljandi Guitar Festival will take place for the third time. The idea of the festival is to promote improvisational and traditional guitar music. Additionally, the festival introduces the instruments which are relative to guitar and offers master classes, projects and Jam-sessions for students, also Tiit Paulus Young Guitarist Prize will be given out.
The main guest of the festival is the top guitarist Ulf Wakenius (Sweden) who will perform with Estonian Dream Big Band conducted by Örjan Fahlström (Sweden). Viljandi Guitar Festival also features Erki Pärnoja with Kristjan Kallas, Ben Monder (USA) with Kristjan Randalu, Niklas Winter (Finland) with Siim Aimla Ensemble, Jacob Young (Norway) with fellow-countryman saxophonist Bendik Hofseth, Oleg Pissarenko Quartet, Yves Carbonne (France) with Raul Vaigla and Paul Daniel.
The artistic director of the festival is Ain Agan.
