Concerts of Netherlands Chamber Choir with Risto Joost conducting

In next days, Netherlands Chamber Choir with Risto Joost conducting will give six concerts of music by Arvo Pärt and Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina in Holland. A cappella program consists of Pärt’s Magnificat, Nunc dimittis, Tribute to Caesar, I am the True Vine and …which was the son of… and Palestrina’s Missa Papae Marcelli. Risto Joost is the new chief conductor of the Netherlands Chamber Choir for the season 2011/2012, but already in this year he prepares three concert programs: in addition to Pärt/Palestrina concert in October, Bach/Händel is coming before Christmas and Brahms/Renessaince in February 2011). Joost debuted in front of the choir at Tenso Days in Amsterdam in October 2009.

Risto Joost (b. 1980) have studied choral conducting at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre with Prof. Kuno Areng and orchestral conducting with Prof. Jüri Alperten and Prof. Paul Mägi. He completed his skills at the University for Music and Performing Arts in Vienna in Erwin Ortner and Leopold Hager’s class. In 2008, Risto Joost graduated from the Royal College of Music in Stockholm majoring in orchestral conducting with Prof. Jorma Panula. Joost has collaborated with choirs like Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir, Estonian National Male Choir, Mixed chorus Latvija, Swedish Radio Choir and Ars Nova Copenhagen. In 1999, he founded chamber choir Voces Musicales and in 2002 instrumental Ensemble Voces Musicales. From 2006, Joost is the principal conductor of the Tallinn Music High School Symphony Orchestra. Since autumn 2009, he is the conductor of Estonian National Opera and chief chorus master of the Opera Chorus.
