Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir will perform in China

On October 17 and 18, Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir under the guidance of Mikk Üleoja will perform within the framework of the World EXPO 2010 in Shanghai. The global exhibition will take place from May 1 to October 31 and the theme for Expo 2010 is Better City, Better Life.

The first concert will be held on October 17 at World EXPO Cultural Center Music Club at 8 pm, where Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir will perform „Solfeggio“, „I Am the True Vine“ and „ which Was the Son of…“ by Arvo Pärt and „The Songster’s Childhood“, „Curse upon Iron“ and song cycle St. John's Day Songs by Veljo Tormis.

On October 18, the National Day of Estonia will be celebrated in Shanghai. The opening ceremony of the day will start at 10.30 am – Margus Kasterpalu’s film based on Estonian fairy tales will be premiered, Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir and Villu Veski (saxophone) will perform pieces from Veljo Tormis’s choral music in the backround.
