Symphonies of Pärt and Tüür at the festival in Prague

Arvo Pärt’s and Erkki-Sven Tüür’s freshest symphonies are in the program of International Music Festival Radio Autumn in Prague. On October 14 at 7.30 pm Tüür’s Symphony No. 8 (2010) will be performed by Czech Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra Pardubice (conductor Marko Ivanovič) and October 15 at 7 pm, Pärt’s Symphony No. 4 Los Angeles (2008) will be presented by Talich Chamber Orchestra (conductor Petr Vronský). Both concerts will take place in Prague Academy of Music Martinů Hall.

Radio Autumn (October 12 to 16) brings together radio orchestras and its aim is to offer the new concepts for the audience and radio listeners, support Czech music and young musicians, present Czech and world premieres and to promote less well-known works. One of the organisers, Chech Radio, will record and broadcast all festival concerts via Vltava station and distributes them by the European Broadcasting Union to fellow members.
