From October 27 to November 7, International Guitar Days Festival Fiesta de la Guitarra is held over the country. This year the festival takes place for the eighth time and bears the subtitle Guitar and the Mediterranian. Fiesta de la Guitarra offers eighteen concerts in Tallinn, Tartu, Otepää, Saku, Saue, Narva, Jõhvi and Pärnu.
The main guests of the festival are Arturo Tallini (Italy) and one of the European finest guitar quartet Baltic Guitar Quartet (Lithuania). Recital concerts are given by such top interpreters like Patrik Kleemola (Finland) and multi-talented Patricio Zeoli (Argentina/Germany). Also already well-known Estonian guitarists as well as students can be heard at several concerts. This year’s festival offers also the concerts of the laureates of the international contest for young guitar players Tallinn 2010, which took place in July.
In addition to the concert program also the year conference of Estonian Guitar Society is held within the framework of the festival. The conference program consists of masterclasses, lectures and rehearsals of the guitar orchestra.
