Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir will perform in Kassel, Dortmund and Bruges

This week, Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir will perform in Germany and Belgium. In addition to Estonian choral music, the program will also feature works by Heinrich Schütz, Johann Sebastian Bach and Felix Mendelssohn.

The first concert will be held on November 9 at Kassel Martinskirche which will take place within the framework of the Kasseler Musiktage. Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir under the guidance of Frieder Bernius (Germany), acknowledged as one of the foremost conductors in Europe, will sing Arvo Pärt’s „Magnificat“, „Da pacem Domine“ and „Nunc dimittis“ and motets by Schütz and Bach (organ played by Ene Salumäe).

The same program was recently performed on November 6 at Haapsalu Dome Church and November 7 at Tallinn St. Nicholas' Church.

The next two concerts will take place on November 10 at Dortmund Konzerthaus, Germany and November 11 at Bruges Concertgebouw, Belgium, conducted by choir’s chief conductor Daniel Reuss. The program of a cappella choral music consists of Pärt’s „Magnificat“ and „Da pacem Domine“, two parts from the triptych Nature Morte by Galina Grigorjeva, Erkki-Sven Tüür’s „Triglosson Trishagion“, Psalms of David and Estonian religious folk songs by Cyrillus Kreek and Three Psalms, Op. 78 by Mendelssohn.

The concert in Bruges will take place within the framework of  the Baltic Festival, held from November 11 to 14. Festival will feature also Toivo Tulev’s choral piece „Tanto gentile“ performed by Latvian Radio Choir.
