Reval Ensemble performed in Finland


Reval Ensemble

On November 21 at 7 pm, Reval Ensemble – Neeme Punder (flute), Kai Kallastu (soprano), Lea Leiten (piano), Eda Peäske (harp), Aare Tammesalu (cello), Madis Metsamart (percussion) and Andrus Kallastu (conductor) – gave a concert Quasi niente at the Sello Hall in Espoo. The whole program consisted of Estonian music: Arvo Pärt’s Pari intervallo (1976/1995), Erkki-Sven Tüür’s Dedication (1990), Galina Grigorjeva’s Quasi niente (2001) and Lament (2000), Tõnu Kõrvits’ The Path of Winter (2004) and Toivo Tulev’s He rejoices in This World and He rejoices in the Next World (1999) and Leaving the Deep Lane (2002).
Reval Ensemble’s concert belonged to the program of Estonian Music Forum in Helsinki which took place from November 19 till November 21.

The concert was broadcasted live by Finnish Radio YLE.

The Estonian Music Forum, which has taken place since 2006, is organized by the Tuglas Society and the artistic director is composer Andrus Kallastu. This year, accordion player Tiit Kalluste and saxophonist Villu Veski also gave a concert and a seminar was held on November 20.
The Estonian Music Forum in Helsinki is supported by the Ministry of Culture, the Cultural Endowment of Estonia, the Estonian Embassy in Helsinki, Finnish Composers' Union and Tallink Silja.
