Conference and data base of Estonian folk song

On November 24 to 25, conference of Estonian folk song called regilaul will take place in Estonian Literary Museum, Tartu. 23 papers will be read by researchers of regilaul from Estonia and abroad. Within the framework of the conference, also folklorist and etnomusicologist Ingrid Rüütel’s 75th birthday will be celebrated and presentation of her book – compilation of Rüütel’s researches, essays and papers, will be held. In the evening of November 25, the presentation of internet data base of regilaul will take place. At the moment, over 61 000 texts are available in the address of http://www.folklore.ee/regilaul/ , all of them coming from the Estonian Folklore Archives. Data base was created in Estonian Literary Museum on the support of Finnish Literary Society and Estonian Ministry of Education and Research.
