Sten Lassmann’s concert of piano music by Heino Eller

On December 1 at 7 pm, pianist Sten Lassmann’s concert Heino Eller’s Piano Music III will take place at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre chamber hall. The program consists of Lyrical Waltz, Waltz in B major (1931), Little Waltz, Meditation (1935), Ten Lyrical Pieces (1942–1943), Etude in A-flat minor (1918), Etude in G-flat minor (1919), Etude in G-flat minor (1917), Five Preludes and Sonata No. 4 (1957–1958). Lassmann started the concert series of Eller’s music in autumn 2008. The entrance is free.

Sten Lassmann (1982) is one of the most outstanding pianists of younger generation in Estonia who has achieved recognition in Estonia and abroad. He has given recitals, performed as a chamber musician and appeared as a soloist with the orchestra. He has been awarded several prizes, including the 1st prize at the VI National Piano competition in Tallinn 2002. Lassmann studied piano in Tallinn Music High School and continued his studies in Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre with Professor Ivari Ilja. In 2005-2008, Lassmann obtained the master degree at the Royal Academy of Music in London with Ian Fountain. In 2008, he continued PhD studies at the same academy.
