Estonian premiere of Urmas Sisask’s choral work

On December 26 at 7 pm, Tallinn Philharmonic Society’s concert within the church music series VIVA ORATORIO! will take place in Tallinn St. John’s Church where Urmas Sisask’s Veni creator spiritus op. 114 will receive its first performance in Estonia. Work for female and male choir, flute and percussion was written in 2008 as a musical gift for celebrating the 90th anniversary of the Republic of Estonia in England, where it was premiered the same year by Estonian TV Girls' Choir, Royal College of Music JD Chamber Choir at London St. Paul Church. Veni creator spiritus will be performed in Estonia by Estonian TV Girls' Choir, Tartu Youth Choir, Neeme Punder (flute), Lauri Ahone and Aleksandra Anstal (percussion), conductor is Aarne Saluveer.
Additionally, from among Sisask’s works, also three songs from the cycle 12 Songs in Honor of Holy Virgin Maria op. 41 (1992) and Pavel Tshesnokov’s (1877–1944) Prayer of Light (Estonian premiere) will be performed.
