Neeme Järvi Summer Academy and Leigo Lake Music festival

From August 9 to 15, Neeme Järvi International Masterclasses for Conductors will take place at Leigo, in South-Estonia. 14 participants from USA, Norway, Russia, Latvia, Japan, France, Taiwan and Mikk Murdvee and Kaspar Mänd from Estonia will take part in masterclasses. They will work with the Estonian National Youth Symphony Orchestra and soloists.

The courses will end with two concerts on August 14 at 7 pm at Otepää Church, where music by Johann Sebastian Bach, Edvard Grieg, Max Bruch, Heino Eller and Rudolf Tobias will be performed and August 15 at daylight concerto of the Leigo Lake Music festival at 5 pm. The program consists of music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, J. S. Bach, Grieg and arrangement of Gustav Ernesaks’s well-known children’s song Train Trip by Sven Kullerkupp.

From August 14 to 15, Leigo Lake Music festival will take place. A two-day event offers several interesting concerts and also photo exhibition. On August 14, well-known pop-music ensembles and artists, like ensemble Jäääär and Noorkuu, Siiri Sisask, Evelin Samuel, Riho Sibul, Vaiko Eplik, Kaire Vilgats, Bonzo, Mikk Tammepõld, Maarja and Villu Veski will perform. Also mobile symphony Broadcast Area by Eve Arpo, Riin Rõõs and Timo Toots will be premiered.

On August 15, besides the closing concert of Neeme Järvi International Masterclasses for Conductors, also mezzo soprano Annely Peebo’s recital will be held and Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 Ode to Joy (Estonian National Youth Symphony Orchestra, Revalia Chamber Male Choir, Tartu University Academic Female Choir, Estonian TV Girl’s Choir, soloists Aile Asszonyi, Annely Peebo, Oliver Kuusik and Atlan Karp, conductor Neeme Järvi) and Wellington’s Victory will be performed (Estonian National Youth Symphony Orchestra, conductor Neeme Järvi).

Leigo Lake Music festival is held since 1998.
