Chamber Choir Voces Musicales will perform music by Palestrina and Pärt

On August 15, chamber choir Voces Musicales conducted by Risto Joost will perform at Nissi Church at 9 pm. The program consists of music by Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina and Arvo Pärt. Palestrina’s Mass Papae Marcelli will be performed alternately with Pärt’s sacral choral pieces (Magnificat, The Woman with the Alabaster Box, Tribute to Caesar, Nunc dimittis). Voces Musicales performed music by Palestrina and Pärt in this spring within the International Spring Festival in Tel Aviv.


Voces Musicales

Chamber Choir Voces Musicales was founded in 1999 by Risto Joost who has remained the chief conductor of the choir till today. Choir has taken successfully part in several choral competitions and festivals (including France and Israel). Voces Muiscales has appeared together with many outstanding musicians, ensembles (NYYD Ensemble, Hortus Musicus), orchestras (Tallinna Chamber Orchestra, Tallinn Youth Orchestra, Pärnu City Orchestra) and conductors (Neeme Järvi, Olari Elts, Arvo Volmer, Andres Mustonen, Jüri Alperten). The choir has also participated in the premieres of several new works by Estonian composers (Toivo Tulev, Timo Steiner, Ülo Krigul, Helena Tulve and others).
