Estonian Composers Union & Pirita monastery composition competition Taaveti Laul [Psalms of David]

Conditions and terms:


- The works expected to the competition should be written for mixed chamber choir or vocal ensemble (SATB) but ensembles consisting only of male or female voices are possible as well
- The works must be written on the texts from recent Estonian translation of Psalms of David. Collection of texts – „Psalmid” (published by Maarjamaa, 2009, the price 50 EEK, including tax) is available at the Estonian Composers Union or Tallinn Pirita monastery.
- Works must not be previously performed
- Deadline for receiving the works is November 1st, 2009 (postmark)

The performance-ready scores should be sent to the Estonian Composers Union, Lauteri 7c, 10145 Tallinn, Estonia.

The competition has a prize fund of 30 000 Estonian crowns: I prize - 15,000 EEK, II prize - 10,000 EEK; III Prize - 5000 EEK. The jury has the right to reallocate the amounts. A selection of works from the competition will be performed in December 2009 by the chamber choir Voces Musicales.
