New concert season of the Association of Estonian Professional Musicians begins

The Association of Estonian Professional Musicians will start the concert season with a new concert series entitled Young Interpreters which will take place at the Meder Hall, Tallinn. On September 4, violinist Mari Poll, who won the special prize by the Association of Estonian Professional Musicians at the Heino Eller violin competition in 2008, will perform with pianist Mihkel Poll. Program consists of music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Johannes Brahms, Alfred Schnittke and Franz Waxman.

On September 24, string quartet Prezioso (Hanna-Liis Nahkur – violin, Mari-Katrina Suss – violin, Anne Ilves – viola, Andreas Lend – cello), Helena Tuuling (clarinet) and Kairi Vavilov (piano) will perform pieces by Sergei Prokofiev, Ante Grigin and Camille Saint-Saëns. Prezioso and Helena Tuuling won the special prizes at the Con Brio competition-festival for young Estonian musicians last year.

Concert series Academic Chamber Music will continue with a concert on September 12 dedicated to the 350th anniversary of Henry Purcell’s birth. His music will be performed by singers Teele Jõks and Pirjo Püvi, harpsichord player Imbi Tarum and cello player Tõnu Jõesaar at Kadriorg Palace.
All concerts of the Association of Estonian Professional Musicians begin at 7 pm.
