New piece by Helena Tulve will be premiered in France

On September 22, Helena Tulve’s new piece „I Am a River“ (2009) for a cappella mixed choir (text by Mawlânâ Jalâluddîn Rûmî, translated in English by Nevit Oguz Ergin) will receive its world premiere performance in France. Choral work is commissioned by Netherlands Chamber Choir and will be performed under the direction of Norwegian conductor Grete Pedersen at Eglise Notre Dame in Morteau within the framework of the Festival International de Musique de Besançon. The program of the concert entitled La voce femminile consists also music by French composers Saskia Macris, Edith Canat de Chizy and Claude Debussy and Serbian composer Isidora Žebeljan.

The same program will be performed also in Besançon and Sochaux (France) and Amsterdam, Leeuwarden, Gouda and Utrecht (the Netherlands).
