Autumn Festival of the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre

From September 23 to 26, the Autumn Festival of the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre will take place for the eleventh time. Festival, which focuses mainly on the contemporary music, offers several concerts, drama and opera performances and roundtable discussions.

The opening concert of the festival will take place on September 23 at 6 pm at Tallinn Music High School, where music by Estonian composers who have graduated from the same school, will be performed by EAMT students and young musicians from Tallinn Music High School. On September 24 at 4 pm, Anto Pett, Priit Raud, Aleksander Pepeljajev, Henri Laupmaa and Urmas Kõiv will participate in international roundtable discussions „Innovation in music and theatre and how it is used in practice?“ at EAMT Opera Studio. Roundtable will be hosted by Professor Gesa Birnkraut (Germany), the Head of EAMT Cultural Management and Humanities Department. At 6 pm in the same evening, EAMT New Music Ensemble will perform at EAMT Chamber Hall. On September 25, students of EAMT Drama School will give the premiere of Margarita and the Master (directed by Aleksander Pepeljajev) at Theatre NO 99 at 7 pm. Short operas by Age Hirv (Fire Enchanter) and Monika Mattiesen (DMeter) will be performed by EAMT vocal students on September 25 and 26 at Tallinn Kanuti Guild Hall at 8 pm. Stage director is Liis Kolle and conductor Risto Joost. Traditional concert of EAMT composition students will take place at EAMT Chamber Hall on September 26 at 4 pm.

Autumn festival is the part of the 90th anniversary jubilee events of Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre.
