A new CD with music by Veljo Tormis is realised

On October 1, Ulmeplaadid will introduce a new CD „Reworks: the Law of Conservation of Song“, which presents remixes of works by Veljo Tormis. The idea to combine academic and non-academic music dates back to Estonian Music Days Festival 2007, when Veljo Tormis was the festival composer and where artists were given the opportunity to create new music using Tormis’ creation.

CD presents Tormis’s works from 1950–1991: „The Seventeenth Canto of the „Kalevala““, „Curse Upon Iron“, „Songs of the Ancient Sea“, „Litany to Thunder“, „Journey of the War Messenger“, „The Songster’s Childhood“ and many others. Presentation will take place at the Von Krahl Theatre within the framework of the festival Plektrum.

The album „The Law of Conservation of Song“ features Tõnis Leemets, Kirtana Rasa, Marsen Jules (Germany), Kadi Uibo, Taavi Tulev, Pastacas, Muschraum, Uku Nurk, Eva Mitreikina, Aivar Tõnso, 3 Pead, Pia Fraus, Jaan Pehk, Algorütmid et al.
