The Estonian Theatre and Music Museum presents exhibition dedicated to the 75th anniversary of singer Hendrik Krumm



From September 23 to the end of November, Wednesdays to Saturdays from 10-18, an exhibition reflecting the life and singing career of one of the most acknowledged Estonian tenor Hendrik Krumm (1934-1989), is open at the Estonian Theatre and Music Museum.
On December 21 this year, Hendrik Krumm would have been at the age of 75.

Hendrik Krumm was born and acquired the school 
education in Leisi, island of Saaremaa. After the graduation from the Tallinn Music School and the Tallinn Conservatory (1963), he studied in Milan at La Scala Singing School with Gennaro Barra (1965-67). From 1961, Krumm sang as a soloist at the Theatre Estonia and over the years, his repertoire included about 50 leading tenore roles. He appeared as soloist in performances of large-scale vocal works as well as a chamber singer, performing also music by Estonian composers including Mart Saar, Eduard Tubin, Eugen Kapp. Krumm has performed in many countries of the former Soviet Union, several European countries, United States and Japan. Hendrik Krumm was also highly evaluated singing pedagogue, his most known students are Nadia Kurem and Vello Jürna.

The exhibition as a collaboration between Estonian Theatre and Music Museum and the Estonian State Concert Agency was prepared by the theatre department leader of museum Kalju Haan and art director Katre Rohumaa.
