Concert of Tobias String Quartet in Haapsalu

On November 8, Tobias String Quartet (Maano Männi – violin, Harry Traksmann – violin, Toomas Nestor – viola, Aare Tammesalu – cello) will perform at Haapsalu Cultural Centre at 3 pm to celebrate the Father’s Day. The program of the concert entitled Delicate Moments with String Qaurtet consists of music by Erkki-Sven Tüür, Jospeh Haydn and Astor Piazzolla.

Tobias String Quartet, founded in 2000, has regularly given concerts in Estonia as well as abroad (Stockholm, Berlin, Helsinki, St. Petersburg, Riga, Athens). The quartet’s first CD was released under the German label Erdenklang in 2003. For Estonian Radio Tobias String Quartet has recorded chamber music by Lepo Sumera, Veljo Tormis, Jaan Rääts, Heino Eller and Tõnis Kaumann. Their repertoire also includes masterpieces of the world’s quartet literature. The quartet is named after Estonian composer Rudolf Tobias who composed the first string quartet in Estonian music literature.
