Today, on November 20 at 7 pm, pianist Kalle Randalu will perform with the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra. As the whole concert is dedicated to the Classicism, the program consists of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Six German Dances, KV 571, Piano Concerto No 22 in E flat major, KV 482 and Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No 8 in F major. Concert is conducted by the founder and conductor of the Ostrobothnian Chamber Orchestra Juha Kangas (Finland).

Kalle Randalu is an internationally acclaimed pianist who graduated from the piano class of Bruno Lukk at Tallinn State Conservatory in 1980. In 1980–1983 he furthered his piano studies as a postgraduate student with Lev Vlassenko at Moscow Conservatory. Kalle Randalu is a laureate of several international piano competitions: he won the first prize at the local pianists’ contest of the former Soviet Union in Tallinn (1976) and the ARD Competition in Munich (1985), and was named a laureate at the Schumann Competition in Zwickau (1981) and the Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow (1982). Since 1988 Randalu resides in Germany and works as a professor of the Hochschule für Musik of Karlsruhe. |
Kalle Randalu has performed in Austria, Australia, Brazil, Canada, England, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Japan, Portugal, Russia, Spain, U.S. and elsewhere. As a soloist he has performed with many orchestras, such as Estonian National Symphony Orchestra, Tallinn Chamber Orchestra, Vanemuine Symphony Orchestra, BBC Symphony Orchestra, the Philharmonic Orchestras of St. Petersburg, Moscow and Hamburg, Bavarian State Opera Orchestra, Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra. He has collaborated with numerous conductors, including Neeme Järvi, Paavo Järvi, Eri Klas, Olari Elts, Jüri Alperten, Wolfgang Sawallisch, Mariss Jansons, Maksim Shostakovich, Leif Segerstam, Juha Kangas, Jac van Steen et al. Randalu has densely collaborated with ensemble Mandelring Quartet and Trio di Clarone, as well as ensemble Villa Musica that unites leading musicians of whole Germany.
