Concert tour of Revalia Male Chamber Choir in USA and Kanada

From November 16 to 21, Revalia Male Chamber Choir (conductor Hirvo Surva) gave several concerts at different concert halls and churches in USA and Canada (Oregon, Washington and Vancouver). The concert program entitled „New Bridge of Song: Music of Estonia and Scandinavia“ consisted of music by composers from Norway, Lithuania and Estonia (Veljo Tormis, René Eespere, Ester Mägi, Gustav Ernesaks). Several concerts were given with friendship choirs from USA and Canada.

Revalia Male Chamber Choir was founded in 1998 and has grown out of Revalia Boys’ Choir. Since the foundation, artistic director and conductor of the choir has been Hirvo Surva. The choir has won awards from several international contests. In 10 years, the choir has given concerts in all over Estonia and also in Denmark, Russia, Sweden, Finland, England, Hungary, Slovenia, USA and Canada. The choir has participated in several large-scale vocal works with orchestra and performed with Estonian singers Annely Peebo, Siiri Sisask, Kait Tamra, Tõnis Mägi and guitarist Oleg Pissarenko. The choir has released several CDs: „One Moment” (2005), „Songs From the Soul” (2003) with Siiri Sisask, „Christmas Journey through the Ages” (2009) with Annely Peebo, also a DVD „Be My Prayer” (2005) with Siiri Sisask.
