Advent concerts of the Corelli Music

This weekend, music agency Corelli Music will start its advent concerts. On November 6, ensemble Reval Troubadours (before Hansa Troubadours) will perform at Maidla Manor in East Virumaa at 6 pm with the program entitled as Christmas Music from the Middle Ages. On November 13, Reval Troubadours and Mikk Dede will give a concert at the luxurious hall of the city palace that once belonged to the Baltic-German nobel family Ungern-Sternbergs (the building of the Estonian Academy of Sciences).

These concerts will be held within the framework of the concert series Music in Romantic Manors and Musical Salon in Toompea.

The program entitled as Christmas Music from the Middle Ages presents beautiful selection of duets from the IX to XV centuries, Gregorian chants for Christmas time, musical pearls telling little stories about wine, love and soul of troubadours and also the Cantigas de Santa Maria, songs from a medieval manuscript composed under the reign of Spanish king Alfonso X (1221−1284) and dedicated to the Virgin Mary. The ensemble is wearing beautiful colorful costumes inspired by clothes of the Middle Ages. Reval Troubadours is staffed by Anna-Liisa Eller (hand drums, recorders, zithers), Janno Pokk (nyckelharp, vocal, hand drums), Endrik Üksvärav (vocal, hand drums) and Maarja Uus (recorders, hand drums, theorbo).
