Three new pieces for self-playing piano

On March 9 at 5 p.m. concert titled as „...it plays itself” will take place in Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre organ hall, where the main character would be self-playing and interactively reacting piano. Three pieces will be premiered: „Whirls and Traces” by Liis jürgens, „Intermezzo VI” by Gerhard Lock and „Piano Synthesis for Remote-Controlled Self-Playing Piano” by Hans-Gunter Lock. „Interactive Etude for Self-Playing Piano” by Hans-Gunter Lock and „Duet for One Pianist” (1989) by Jean-Claude Risset will get the Estonian premiere. All pieces are written scpecially for disklavier and will be performed by Diana Kiivit – young pianist who has been active performer of contemporary music and improvisation for many years. Concert is supported by Estonian piano company Reval Piano, Estonian Cultural Foundation, Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre and Estonian Composers’ Union.
