Mezzo soprano Külli Tomingas sings Rossini and Pergolesi in Milano

Mezzo soprano Külli Tomingas, living in Milano since 1994, performed at Milano SpazioTeatro89 in program “L'eterna giovinezza di Gioachino Rossini” on February 29 (Rossini’s birthday). Tomingas sang Rossinis’ chamber arias with piano accompaniment by her husband Luca Schieppati. From 11th of February she participates as soloist in performances of Pergolesi’s “Stabat Mater” with La Scala String Orchestra under the conducting of Diego Montrone. The final concert of this “Serate musicali” series takes place on February 14 at Milano Conservatory’s Verdi Great Hall.

Külli Tomingas graduated from Piacenza Conservatory in the class of Adelisa Tabiadoni in 2000. She participated at master classes of Leyla Gencer, Luciana Serra, Enzo Dara, Katia Ricciarelli a.o. Külli has sung at several Italian theatres and festivals in Mozart’s, Rossini’s, Purcell’s operas as well in Britten’s „A Midsummer Night’s Dream“ and „Noye’s Fludde“, Schoenberg’s „Pierrot Lunaire“ and Bruno Maderna’s „Satyricon“ (with conductor Luca Pfaff, stage director Lindsay Kemp a.o.). She has been soloist in many oratorial pieces (Mozart’s Requiem, Masses in C and C minor) and stood up as a chamber singer (Debussy, Stravinsky, Rossini, Estonian composer Kuldar Sink).
