GERMANY RECORD COMPANY ECM WILL RELEASE CD WITH HELENA TULVE’S MUSIC

On May 20, the German record company ECM will release debut album „Lijnen” with Helena Tulve’s chamber music. In connection of CD release Tulve will take part in music festival in Italy oraganised by ECM.

CD „Lijnen” consists of six pieces choosed by composer: À travers, Lijnen, Night, Abysses, Cendres and Nec ros, nec pluvia…. Some of them are concert recordings but half are newly recorded specially for this CD. Tulve’s works are performed by NYYD Ensemble (conducted by Olari Elts), soprano Arianna Savall, Stockholm Saxophone Quartet, flutists Emmanuelle Ophèle-Gaubert and Mihkel Peäske and Silesian String Quartet. Of Estonian composers, reputable label ECM has previously released albums of music by Arvo Pärt, Erkki-Sven Tüür, Veljo Tormis and Heino Eller.

Music from ECM is the subject of a number of festivals coming up in the months ahead. From May 22 to 25 the contemporary music festival „Contemporaneous Contaminations: Orient – Occident” will take place in Bergamo, Italy. In connection of Tulve’s music CD release her piece Lumineux/Opaque will be performed at the festival by New Tallinn Trio. The concert „Between Two Mirrors” will take place in the Donizetti Theatre on May 23 at 9 pm. The programme also includes music by Arvo Pärt, Heino Eller and Erkki-Sven Tüür.
