PEEP AND STEN LASSMANN WILL PERFORM IN PARIS

On May 23, Peep and Sten Lassmann will perform in series Estonian Pianists in Paris, Grand Salon of the Hotel de national des Invalides. Peep Lassmann’s programme includes Pardon, Fryderyk! by Lepo Sumera and piano cycle Lapland Joiks by Ester Mägi and additionally an extensive selection of piano music by Olivier Messiaen. Sten Lassmann has for a long time been interested in Heino Eller’s piano music: he performs Sonata No. 2 by Eller and diversifies the programme with Etudes-Tableaux Op. 39 by Sergei Rachmaninov. The concert belongs to the series of events that celebrates the jubilee of Estonian Republic.

In March, Peep Lassmann, one of the most renowned Estonian pianists and the rector of Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, celebrated his 60th anniversary with concerts, premiering pieces by several Estonian composers. His son Sten Lassmann has graduated master studies at Royal Academy of Music in London, in present he completes his PhD studies in Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, operating both in London and Tallinn and giving a number of concerts.
