Pärnu International Choir Festival

On May 28 at 8 pm, opening concert of Pärnu International Choir Festival will take place in Pärnu Concert Hall. At the festival held from May 28 to June 1, 20 choirs will perform, including guests from Czech, Finland, Latvia and Austria.

Biannual Pärnu Inernational Choir Festival is open to all types of amateur choirs and takes place for the 7th time this year. In the opening concert in Pärnu Concert Hall, joint choir and Pärnu City Orchestra will perform Carl Orff's scenic cantata Carmina Burana, soloists Aile Asszonyi (soprano) and Mati Turi (tenor). Festival programme also consists of folk song competition, children's and youth choir concerts in schools, concerts of the festival choirs in Pärnu town and county, youth party and ceremonial final concert in Pärnu Concert Hall where the winners of the folk song competition will be rewarded.
Artistic director of the festival is Ave Sopp, conductor of Pärnu Chamber Choir.
