Clarinetist Tõnu Kalm gained 2nd prize in Jurmala

Clarinetist Tõnu calm gained 2nd place at Baltic competition for wind instrument players in Latvia. The 4th Jurjānu Andrejs International Wind Competition took place on May 19 to 25 in Jurmala. Tõnu Kalm competed among 19 clarinet players and shared second prize with a Lithuanian clarinetist.

Tõnu Kalm is a clarinetist of Vanemuine Symphony Orchestra and he is a member of the Association of Estonian Professional Musicians. He has been studied at the Heino Eller Tartu Music School and at present he finishes his first year at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, he also teaches clarinet in Võru Music School. Tõnu Kalm also shared 2nd prize in clarinet group at the National Wind Competition that took place this April the first time after 1990.
