The Third Tallinn Guitar Festival is coming

From June 9 to 13, The Third Tallinn Guitar Festival presents noted guitarists from Argentina, France, Italy, Finland and Estonia. Among others, guitar legends such as Jorge Cardoso and Massimo Lonardi will perform. The festival programme also includes master classes and the seminar.

Events of the Tallinn Third Guitar Festival will take place in Tallinn Blackheads’ Brotherhood House, History Museum and Kumu Art Museum. The opening concert of the festival in the Blackheads’ Brotherhood House on June 9, offers French performer Gaëlle Solal who will play romantic music and contemporary music from France. On June 10, music of Spanish composers Manuel de Falla, Isaac Albeniz and Federico Moreno-Torroba will be performed by Finnish guitar duo Janne Lehtinen and Pentti Hilden in History Museum. The third festival guest is composer and guitarist Jorge Cardoso from Argentina, who plays his own compositions and music from Latin America in the Blackheads’ Brotherhood House on June 11. Italian lutist Massimo Lonardi plays Italian court and polyphonic music from 16th century in History Museum on June 12. Tango Ballet by Astor Piazzolla will be performed at the closing concert of the festival in Kumu Art Museum on June 13. On the stage there will be guitarist Tiit Peterson, accordionist Allan Jakobi and the dancers Dmitri Hartshenko and Helen Org-Veidebaum. Choreographer is Dmitri Hartshenko.

The festival programme also includes master classes by Gaëlle Solal and guitar duo Janne Lehtinen and Pentti Hilden, composition master classes by Finnish guitarist and composer Kai Nieminen and the seminar on latest compositions by Jorge Cardoso. Besides the main concerts also the young Estonian guitarists will participate as the performers during the festival. Tallinn Guitar Festival was established in 2006. The founder and artistic director of the festival is Tiit Peterson.
