Music by Tõnu Kõrvits in the Christmas concert in Rovaniemi

On December 10 at 7 pm, Lapland Chamber Orchestra and Rovaniemi Chamber Choir Seitakuoro will perform „Kreek’s Notebook” by Tõnu Kõrvits in Rovaniemi Church.
About half an hour long work for mixed choir and string orchestra is based on Estonian sacred folk tunes, collected by Cyrillus Kreek, adapted, arranged and mixed with his own composing style by Tõnu Kõrvits to obtain a new unique musical entity. He also has admitted Estonian sacred folk tunes being one of his favourite topics for years.
„Kreek’s Notebook” was first performed on June 3, 2007 at the Cyrillus Kreek's Music Days in Haapsalu by Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir and Tallinn Chamber Orchestra.
