Ensemble Resonabilis in Iran

From 14 to 16 December, trio of ensemble Resonabilis - Kristi Mühling (Estonian zither), Tarmo Johannes (flute) and Aare Tammesalu (cello) - gives concerts in Iran at the Fadjr International Music Festival. The concerts are held in Teheran and Shiraz, the works by Johann Sebastian Bach and Estonian composers - Helena Tulve, Margo Kõlar, Tõnu Kõrvits, Tatjana Kozlova, Arvo Pärt, Ester Mägi and Raimo Kangro will be played.
The trio will also premiere a new piece by Iranian composer Amirbahador Sadafian, the work titeled "Lovers" is composed especially for Resonabilis and based on scales of Iranian traditional music.
"Resonabilis" was invited to the festival last year on the MIDEM International Music Market, where the ensemble got attention with its unique instrumentation - the heart of the ensemble is Estonian chromatic zither that is related to Iranian traditional instrument kanun.
