"The Snow Queen" with music by Olav Ehala in Tallinn

On January 22, the last performances of "The Snow Queen", a play for children with music by Olav Ehala, will take place in Estonian Drama Theatre, Tallinn. The stage work is based on the well known fairy tale by the famous Danish writer Hans Christian Andersen. The libretto is written by Leelo Tungal.
The Snow Queen was produced in Tartu Vanemuine Theatre under the direction of Andres Dvinjaninov. Dedicated to the 200th birthday of Hans Christian Andersen, it was premiered a year later, on November 25, 2006 due to the technical problems.

Composer Olav Ehala (1950) is highly appreciated in Estonian music for his witty, humorous and warm-hearted songs and as a creator of vivid characters in incidental music. Also the music of "The Snow Queen" has met a warm reception.
The Tallinn spectacles of "The Snow Qyeen" will take place in Estonian Drama Theatre on January 22 at 2 and 6 pm. The musical director and conductor of the production is Toomas Vavilov. The cast includes Martin Kõiv (Kaj), Laura Peterson or Liisi Koikson (Gerda), Alo Kurvits (Crow), Kaire Vilgats or Siiri Koodres (Grandmother and Snow Queen), Valentina Kremer (Robber Woman) and many others.
